Liv Morgan has become one of the most well known wrestlers on the WWE roster, but Morgan’s fame has come with some unwanted attention. POST Wrestling is reporting that Shawn Chan, the man who was accused of stalking Liv Morgan, has been found not guilty.

The The U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Florida held a trial involving Chan on Monday, and the court ruled that Chan was found not guilty by reason of insanity on a charge of interstate domestic violence. The charge carried a sentence of up to 5 years in prison. It was also noted that at this point Chan has been detained for just over a year.

According to the report the court session lasted just over 30 minutes. Chan waived his right to a jury trial which allowed Judge Mary S. Scriven to decide the case. Chan is a resident of Canada, and the judge determined that the US Marshall Service would coordinate with ICE to release the defendant into their custody.

On May 31, 2025, Chan drove from Scarborough, Ontario, to Florida and surveillance footage showed him searching for a key at Liv Morgan’s residence as he tried to enter the house. Security footage also showed Chan picking up an air rifle pellet gun that was on Liv Morgan’s front porch and attempting to open the door while holding the gun.

Morgan was not at home at the time Chan arrived there, but he stayed at her residence for over 2 hours. He also left a note for Liv Morgan which contained his contact information.

A few days later Chan arrived at the WWE Performance Center when Liv Morgan was there for a NXT taping, and he was arrested and taken into custody at the Pasco County Detention Center. Last August, Shawn Chan was diagnosed with delusional disorder and adjustment disorder with depressed and anxious moods while in jail. He also falsely claimed to have known Liv Morgan in high school. Chan told psychologists that he believed Liv Morgan was his girlfriend, and he had traveled to Florida to check on her.
