During this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Gunther approached Nick Aldis backstage and told him that he can’t trust the officials in WWE. The Ring General then informed Nick Aldis that he will be picking the referee for his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes.
Later in the show Sami Zayn made his way out to the ring and some of the fans booed him. Sami told the fans that they can either boo him, or they can ride or die with the last real good guy. He went on to say he wanted to clear the air with Cody Rhodes, so he called The American Nightmare to the ring.
Sami asked Cody to not be The American Nightmare for a second, but to just be his friend. The fans started chanting “Sami sucks.” Sami brought up how he was the first person who was in the ring when Cody finished the story at WrestleMania 40.
Things got heated as Sami told Cody to be honest, and Cody pointed out how the fans were booing him. He called Sami Zayn out for whining then called him desperate. Cody said he’s sorry he has the Undisputed WWE Championship because it means Sami never will. Sami slapped Cody then immediately tried to apologize.
Cody slapped him back then asked if they’re good. Sami left the ring and grabbed a steel chair. He got back up on the apron and stated down Cody for a moment then dropped it. Sami walked off as Cody looked on.
Shortly after Gunther approached Nick Aldis and told him that he wants Sami Zayn to be the special guest referee for the Undisputed WWE Championship match on SmackDown.
