Over the last few weeks over two dozen wrestlers were released from WWE, and the wrestling world was shocked when it was reported that The New Day had parted ways with the company over the weekend.
Following their departure it was reported that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were asked to restructure their deals with WWE, and they mutually agreed to part ways with the company after they declined to do so. Now it seems that more names are being asked to make changes to their existing deals with WWE.
PWInsider is reporting that the day before The New Day were moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website, they were told a “pretty majorly pushed” talent was asked to take a 50% pay cut, and allegedly did.
The name of the talent was not revealed as PWInsider reports that they have yet to confirm the claim, but the timing of the claim, and The New Day being released the next day was said to have been very, very interesting.
This is seen as a sign that WWE is obviously operating very differently in the TKO era as the ultimate goal is to make the next dollar in order to leverage the success of the company.
As for The New Day, the belief is that they will be able make tons of money doing signings, and making appearances in Japan or other companies like AEW facing off against teams like The Young Bucks, FTR and more.
