Hulk Hogan is without a doubt one of the most recognizable athletes in the history of professional wrestling. The former WWE Champion passed away in July of 2025, but his life is being highlighted in the new Hulk Hogan: Real American documentary on Netflix, which features his final interview.
In the new documentary, Hogan explained that he gave “70% of everything” to his ex-wife Linda when they divorced in 2009. Hogan signed with TNA Wrestling that same year, and he claimed that his run with the company saved him.
“I hit rock bottom. I gave Linda 70% of everything because I just didn’t want to ever talk to her again, be with her, I never wanted to see her again. So, I gave her everything to get rid of her and after the divorce I had no money. I was broke, and so TNA saved me.”
Hogan also explained that he was taking dangerous amounts of fentanyl as he became dependent on the drug due to how much pain he was in at the time.
“I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums here. I had two 300mg patches of fentanyl on my legs and they gave me six 1500mg fentanyl lollipops to eat. I went to the pharmacy, he goes, ‘You should be dead. We have never seen a human being take this much fentanyl.'”
Hulk Hogan wrestled a handful of matches for TNA Wrestling during his time with the company. His last match took place on 1/27/2012 when he teamed with James Storm & Sting to defeat Bobby Roode, Bully Ray & Kurt Angle at a house show in England.
