Brock Lesnar was defeated by Oba Femi during the opening match at night 2 of WrestleMania 42, and after the match Brock shocked the world when he seemingly retired. The Beast Incarnate got emotional as he took off his gloves and boots, then left them in the ring as he said goodbye to the fans.
Following his big moment at WrestleMania there’s been a lot of speculation regarding whether or not Brock Lesnar is really done. While talking about Brock’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that there are people in WWE who don’t believe Brock is retiring yet.
“I will only say that based on people in WWE, they believe he’s not retiring, yet. Although he is retiring, at some point probably this year. I don’t know if anyone knows, this might be one of those things where everything is being kept quiet, like the Seth Rollins thing. A couple people have mentioned it, that’s the belief. So, we’ll see.”
Meltzer also noted that original plans called for Brock to have a longer feud with Oba when he added, “At one point, they were actually going to do a feud with Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi, but that was dropped weeks ago. At one point, this was not going to be a one and done. A way back the decision was it was a one and one, and just Goldberg him, and really that’s what they should do. They kinda have a Goldberg on their hands, and they should go with it, all the way.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Brock Lesnar’s status as they become available.
