For months there was a lot of talk about Chris Jericho’s next move. Ultimately he returned to AEW on Dynamite in Winnipeg last week. Jericho made his way to the ring on this week’s episode of Dynamite in Edmonton, and he declared that he would make his AEW return official by signing his new contract in the middle of the ring.
Jericho said he’s taken a lot of risks throughout his career, including going all in on All Elite Wrestling in 2019. He told the fans that he’s excited to keep building this company that he helped start.
The first ever AEW World Champion continued as he said that he’s gotten in the best possible shape because he loves professional wrestling, and wants to do right by AEW. Jericho was just about to sign his AEW contract when Ricochet’s music and The Demand made their way down to the ring.
Ricochet was heavily booed by the fans as he told them that Canada sucks. He told Jericho that they came in good faith, not to hurt him. Ricochet tried to convince Jericho that he shouldn’t sign the contract, and shouldn’t return to AEW.
The former AEW National Champion hyped himself up, then said he speaks for all the fans when he says, “Nobody wants you here dog.” He encouraged Jericho to leave and never come back as Ricochet pushed his hat into Jericho’s chest.
Chris Jericho said he “doesn’t give a s**t” what Ricochet thinks and he signed the contract. He then announced that there’s a clause in the contract which says he can choose his opponent for Dynasty. Jericho teased that he has to make a decision, but quickly decided he’s going to face Ricochet at Dynasty.
The first ever AEW World Champion then held up his clipboard and told Ricochet “YOU JUST MADE THE LIST” as he officially added Ricochet to the new List of Jericho then left.
Now that @IAmJericho has signed his new contract, he's challenged @KingRicochet for #AEWDynasty and added him to a very special list!
