Real Reason Why Pat McAfee Was Revealed As Randy Orton’s Mystery Person

Randy Orton has been much more vicious on the road to WrestleMania and over the last few weeks he’s been talking to a mystery person on the phone. The Viper stated that this mystery person reminded him that he’s a killer, and the identity of the person on the phone was finally revealed on Friday Night SmackDown.

During the opening segment Cody Rhodes brawled with Randy Orton in the ring when Pat McAfee appeared wearing a RKO shirt. Pat hit Cody with a low blow then Orton decimated Cody with a steel chair.

McAfee got fired up as he cut a promo stating that the Attitude Era fans have been forgotten about. He continued to rip on modern WWE as he questioned why he has to watch 5 foot 5 guys compete in an iron man match while Randy Orton is around. McAfee confirmed he’s been the one talking to Randy Orton on the phone then wrapped up his promo by telling Cody Rhodes that the business he’s leading sucks, and Randy Orton is going to save it.

Following the big reveal on SmackDown, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that TKO CEO Ari Emanuel was the one who made the call to reveal Pat McAfee as the mystery person Randy Orton has been talking to.

PWInsider is also reporting that those they spoke to believe the decision to insert Pat McAfee into the storyline came from TKO, not WWE creative.

After the big reveal on SmackDown, Pat McAfee encouraged fans to buy tickets to WrestleMania when he posted the following:
