We’re six weeks away from WrestleMania 42 and so far a number of title matches have been confirmed for the show. Last week Rhea Ripley punched her ticket to WrestleMania when she won the women’s Elimination Chamber, and it’s been confirmed that Ripley will be challenging Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the original plan for WrestleMania 42 was to have Jade Cargill defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair on the Grandest Stage of Them All. The idea was that Bianca Belair would have either won the women’s Royal Rumble or the women’s Elimination Chamber to set up the match.
Bianca Belair last stepped into the ring at WrestleMania 41 when she faced off against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky in a triple threat match for the Women’s World Championship. Belair suffered a finger injury during the match and has been out of action ever since.
Recently Bianca confirmed that she underwent surgery and is now on the road to recovery. Following the surgery the former champion is rehabbing, but there’s currently no timeline for her return to the ring.
