For months now the masked man storyline has been one of the top angles on WWE programming. Austin Theory was revealed as the masked man back in December, but another masked man appeared at the Royal Rumble when they attacked Bron Breakker.
In the weeks that followed the masked man continued to target The Vision, and a masked man was unmasked during Friday’s episode of SmackDown when they attacked Austin Theory as Logan Paul was facing off against Jacob Fatu. Logan Paul unmasked the masked man who turned out to be independent wrestler Don Furio.
Finally the true identity of the masked man was revealed at Elimination Chamber when Seth Rollins entered the chamber through an open door and took Logan Paul out with a superkick and a Curb Stomp.
Bodyslam is reporting that sources have indicated Seth Rollins handpicked Don Furio to be part of the masked man storyline. Furio was a student at the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy which is run by Seth Rollins and Marek Brave.
It’s being said that despite the situation with the injuries and the obstacles that popped up WWE was very happy with the way the angle played out. WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is expected to address the Seth Rollins situation during this week’s episode of Raw.
Stay tuned for updates.
