Last month at the Royal Rumble, AJ Styles put his career on the line when he faced off against Gunther. In the end The Ring General defeated The Phenomenal One and forced Styles into retirement.

AJ Styles appeared on Raw this week in Atlanta, GA and he delivered a heartfelt speech. During his speech AJ said that he’s a man of his word, and he left his gloves and hooded vest in the ring. After his promo wrapped up The Undertaker came down to the ring to announce that AJ will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

Justin Burrasso is reporting that people close to AJ Styles noted he was well aware AEW was willing to make him a substantial offer, and it was likely to be an offer that wouldn’t cost him much time away from home.

It was also noted that WWE inducting AJ Styles into the Hall of Fame in April severely limits any potential of Tony Khan bringing Styles into AEW for a surprise appearance at the Revolution pay-per-view in March.

Despite the fact that AJ Styles has said he’s retired from in-ring competition there’s still been a lot of speculation regarding what the future holds for The Phenomenal One.

Styles recently commented on a potential return to the ring when he said, “I don’t know. I don’t know. Never say never, right? That’s the saying. I think everybody’s allowed at least once to come out of retirement. I’m not saying that I’ll do it anytime soon. What if my son wrestles? The opportunity to tag with him once, you never know. So, there’ll be a time when the gloves never go back on. It may be now, but we’ll see.”
