Anticipation was at an all time high heading into this week’s episode of NXT as the card included four title matches. DarkState defended the NXT Tag Team Championship against The Vanity Project in the opening match, and it was The Vanity Project who walked away with the gold.
Osiris Griffin and Saquon Shugars took control early on in the match, but the momentum quickly shifted. At one point the referee got distracted as the other members of DarkState got into a heated confrontation with WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake at ringside.
WWE officials tried to break it up as Osiris Griffin left the ring and hit Jackson Drake with a crossbody on the outside. As the chaos unfolded Tony D’Angelo appeared out of nowhere and hit Saquon Shugars with a chokeslam on the apron. He then threw Brad Baylor into the ring and Baylor pinned Shugars to win the NXT Tag Team Championship.
After the match Tony D’Angelo retreated into the crowd and he looked on as The Vanity Project celebrated with the NXT Tag Team Titles.
