We’re currently on the road to WrestleMania and business is expected to pick up for WWE storylines in the coming weeks. The WWE women’s tag team division has been very competitive as of late with a number of teams vying for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria have been trying to position themselves as contenders for the titles.
Bodyslam is reporting that there have been discussions regarding a shift to Lyra Valkyria’s character. The idea is that Lyra Valkyria will become more aggressive as she and Bayley are tried of being overlooked.
Lyra Valkyria was called up to the WWE main roster in 2024 after a successful run in NXT which included a run with the NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. A few months after Valkyria was called up to the main roster she went on to become the first ever WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. However, Becky Lynch defeated Lyra to end her 145 day reign at the Money in the Bank premium live event in 2025.
In recent months Lyra has been paired with Bayley, so it will be interesting to see how this character change plays into the women’s tag team title picture.
