Last month Roman Reigns won the 30 man Royal Rumble match and he wasted little time choosing his opponent for WrestleMania. The Tribal Chief and CM Punk ended up squaring off in a fiery promo battle on the following episode of Raw as they confirmed their WrestleMania match, and during the promo both stars took shots not only at Drew McIntyre, but also at the Undisputed WWE Championship and the SmackDown brand.

Drew McIntyre opened up about his reaction to the promo while speaking with Busted Open Radio, and The Scottish Warrior noted that he wasn’t upset about the things that were said about him, but the things that were said about the title and SmackDown caught his attention.

“That’s the part [speaking about the title] that more got my attention. I don’t care, say whatever you want about me. I can protect myself and look after myself verbally. They weren’t even that bad. Whatever one person said, the other one defended me. It was the stuff about the title and SmackDown, making it feel a little less than when they’re such big superstars. Just focus on the title and each other.

I went out, did a Braveheart speech on Friday because I was legitimately upset. As far as I’m concerned, it’s done. It seems to be done now. They’re focused on their stuff, we’re focused on our stuff. Hopefully, the SmackDown roster saw that and said, ‘Every time I’m in that ring, I’m going to bring it 150% and show you all that I belong on this show, and SmackDown is the A show.’

I remember being in the locker room when Taker was in charge and he would get so angry when he saw the numbers and Raw was beating us on a tour. Go out there, bust your a**, and if you don’t I’ll kick you out the door. I’m very quiet back there, I’ll give you advice when you come to me, but if you’re bringing the show down, I’ll suddenly appear in front of you like magic and I’ll kick your a** out the door.”

Roman Reigns will now go on to challenge CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42. Drew McIntyre’s opponent for the Show of Shows has not been determined yet, but it’s rumored he could face Cody Rhodes, or Jacob Fatu and Cody Rhodes in a triple threat match.
