This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw aired live from Memphis, TN and the show featured an appearance from the current World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.
Punk talked about his upcoming match with Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber. He said that Finn isn’t the Best in the World which prompted Finn to interrupt. Balor made his way out into the arena then paused. Dominik Mysterio then made his way out followed by a returning JD McDonagh. The trio then made their way down to the ring.
Balor told Punk that he didn’t come out to fight, he just wants to make one thing clear. He told Punk that the Best in the World is standing right in front of him, and he’s going to make the WrestleMania main event better when he beats him at Elimination Chamber.
Punk questioned why Balor needed McDonagh and Mysterio with him as he told Balor that all of the great things he accomplished throughout his career he accomplished by himself. He accused The Judgment Day of holding Finn Balor down then made fun of JD McDonagh’s big head as the fans chanted “bobble head.”
The Second City Saint turned his back on The Judgment Day and dared them to jump him. He said that he knows he’s the Best in the World, and he doesn’t need help to prove it, but maybe Finn does. Punk then left the ring and threw his microphone at Balor. JD McDonagh tried go after Punk, but Finn Balor held him back.
JD McDonagh announced back in December that he had undergone surgery when he shared a post which said, “Been working thru some stuff for the last few months, but now is the time to pump the brakes and get put back together. Won’t be long. brb.”
However, it looks like JD McDonagh is now back on the road with WWE ahead of the upcoming Elimination Chamber premium live event in Chicago later this month.
