Over the last few years a number of wrestlers have been released from WWE and some have decided to retire from in-ring competition altogether. Nixon Newell (formerly known as Tegan Nox) returned to the independent circuit following her release from the company, but it looks like she’s getting ready to hang up her boots.
Nixon Newell recently answered some questions from fans on social media, and she announced that her final match will likely take place in December of this year when she was asked about her in-ring future.
“More than likely in December,” Nixon posted in her reponse.

Nixon Newell originally signed with WWE in 2017 and she started using the name Tegan Nox while competing in NXT. Her first run with the company came to an end when she was released in November of 2021. She ended up returning to the company in December of 2022, but was later released once again in November of 2024.
In October of 2025, Newell made her AEW debut alongside Miranda Alize. They were brought back for another match in November, but it was reported that they walked out of Collision before their scheduled match.
During an interview last year Nixon Newell indicated that she would be looking to retire from wrestling in mid 2027. However, it looks like the timeline for her retirement has apparently been moved up.
