You never know who might show up when you watch the Royal Rumble and last month Royce Keys made his big debut when he entered the match at number 14. The former Powerhouse Hobbs made a big impression on the WWE Universe and now everyone is waiting to see what he does next.
Royce Keys recently confirmed on social media that he was at WWE headquarters this week in Stamford, Connecticut. Fightful Select is reporting that Keys was at WWE HQ because he was filming an upcoming episode of What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon. At this point in time it’s not clear when the episode will be released.
Keys has yet to appear on WWE programming following his appearance at the Royal Rumble, but it’s being reported that he was backstage at the Monday Night Raw after the event, and he filmed content for WWE digital. WWE has yet to make any announcements regarding which brand he will be joining, but it was recently reported that he’s set to join SmackDown.
Following his debut at the Royal Rumble, Royce Keys commented on the experience in a YouTube video when he said, “Growing up as a wrestling fan, it’s like stuff you dream about, you know? Growing up, we had plenty of Royal Rumbles in the backyard, getting in trouble. So this is it, man. I’m excited. Man, I get goosebumps and butterflies just talking about this. It’s one of those things where you’re realizing your dreams are right there. You just gotta reach out and grab it, and you’re here.
I’m a believer that things happen. Like, the universe plays everything out, so you don’t want to have any regrets. I personally don’t like looking back at things in life. I don’t like second-guessing myself or thinking, ‘What if I’d done this?’ or ‘Maybe I should have done that.’ Everything lined up and made sense to be here.
I got to talk to Triple H earlier. First thing, he let me know that I’m here for a reason. That definitely eased my nerves.”
