The landscape has changed drastically in NXT over the last few months as multiple names associated with the brand have been called up to the main roster and recently NXT General Manager Ava announced that she would not be signing a new contract.
Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that he was told one of the big reasons Ava didn’t renew her contract was because the company wasn’t offering her a big raise.
The situation was said to have been similar to when Jazmyn Nyx parted ways with the company months ago due to the amount of money she was offered. It was noted that Ava had been with the company for a long time and didn’t want to keep doing it for the money that she was making. Alvarez also speculated that the same thing might have happened with Kelly Kincaid who announced that she will be finishing up with WWE next week.
Ava had been featured consistently on WWE programming over the last few years as she took over the NXT General Manager role in January of 2024. Following her departure from the company it was announced on this week’s episode that Mr. Stone will be the interim NXT General Manager. There’s currently no word on when WWE will be appointing a permanent replacement for Ava.
When Ava first announced her departure on January 30th she posted the following statement on social media:
“This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT & subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also a new turning point in my life. It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava.”
