AJ Lee has been one of the most popular stars in women’s wrestling for some time now and it looks like the former WWE Divas Champion is set to return to the ring at WrestleMania in April.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch for the women’s Intercontinental Championship had been scheduled for WrestleMania 42 and is still scheduled for the card. AJ Lee did not appear at the Royal Rumble and the report noted that Royal Rumble appearance would have served no purpose for Lee.
Ahead of the Royal Rumble premium live event Becky Lynch appeared on ESPN First Take and dared AJ to show up when she said, “If she would like to show up, I would like to beat her and retire her and send her off again, and hopefully we won’t see her for another decade.”
AJ Lee made her big return to WWE last year after being away from the company for over a decade. She teamed with CM Punk to defeat Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins at WrestlePalooza, and last appeared on WWE programming when she joined Rhea Ripley’s team for the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.
