The Money in the Bank ladder match can change careers in an instant and for the last few years LA Knight fans have been hoping to see him win the briefcase. However, Knight fell short once again in 2025 as it was Seth Rollins who ended up winning the Money in the Bank ladder match. While Seth was always supposed to win it was revealed in the new season of WWE Unreal that the finish did not go according to plan.
In the show Chris Park explains that originally the idea was to have LA Knight and Seth Rollins face to face at the top the ladder battling over the Money in the Bank briefcase. The idea was to build a big, suspenseful, dramatic moment with Knight knocking Rollins off, then Rollins pulling Knight off the ladder and hitting him with the Stomp.
However, that’s not what happened as LA Knight pulled Seth off the ladder near the end of the match and connected with a clothesline. As Triple H watched Knight pull Rollins off the ladder from the Gorilla position he said, “No. That’s not what we talked about.”
Knight then tried to climb the ladder himself, and Seth pulled him off and delivered the Stomp to Knight then climbed the ladder and retrieved the briefcase.
Seth Rollins noted that he was viscerally angry when he left the ring even though he won, but said that he was mad at himself for not getting the finish perfect. Park also expressed disappointment over the ending not going according to plan as he expected the original idea to get a big reaction from the crowd.
Triple H went on to explain to LA Knight that the original ending was built for LA Knight when he said, “The end of that thing was built for you. Seth comes up pull the ladder, put it up, urgency. He goes up, he gets all the way to it, but here you come. You get all the way up top with him, fight, you knock him off, he goes down. Holy s*** you’re right there. Grab it, he comes up again, he pulls you down, but you pull him down. He’s out of the picture. You go up, your hands are on it, you’ve got it, he comes, pulls you down, you land, kick, Stomp. He goes up and he gets it where you were that f****** close. We got a really good story there. We just missed the moment to put the fire on it.”
Chris Park then apologized to Triple H who said, “Chris it’s not you. When they get out there live then it’s on them. You can’t get out there and do the spot for them, you’d look terrible in his trunks.”
