There’s been a lot of talk about retirement in the wrestling world recently as John Cena retired in December, and AJ Styles is set to retire at some point this year.

Back in November, JDC (formerly known as Fandango in WWE) announced that he would be retiring from in-ring competition and he stepped into the squared circle for one final match at the TNA Wrestling Genesis pay-per-view on Saturday night.

JDC faced off against Eddie Edwards at the Genesis pay-per-view in Garland, Texas and it was Eddie Edwards who picked up the victory over his System stablemate.

After the match The System celebrated with JDC for a moment before leaving the ring. JDC then stood in the ring as the fans chanted “Thank you Dango!” He then proceeded to walk around the ring and shake hands with the fans as members of the TNA Wrestling locker room looked on from the top of the ramp. JDC walked up the ramp after a few minutes and proceeded to take one final bow before leaving.

With JDC retired The System is now down one member and it’s been confirmed that JDC’s replacement is set to be revealed on this week’s episode of Impact.

JDC kicked off his wrestling career back in 1999 on the independent circuit and he went on to sign a developmental deal with WWE in 2006. In the years that followed he ended up working in NXT before famously wrestling his first match as the new Fandango character against Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29. He remained with the company as Fandango until he was released in 2021. Following his release he returned to the independent circuit as Dirty Dango then joined Total Nonstop Action and changed his name to JDC.

Stay tuned for updates.
