The WWE main roster is loaded with talent from up and comers to veterans, but a number of familiar names are currently sidelined due to injury. WWE announced on Monday night that Dominik Mysterio is out of action indefinitely, and now it seems that another Raw star is out of action as well.

PWInsider is reporting that Sheamus underwent successful shoulder surgery in Birmingham, Alabama on Tuesday. Sheamus has not wrestled since he teamed with John Cena & Rey Mysterio to defeat the team of Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh on the November 17th episode of Monday Night Raw.

Sheamus’ wife also confirmed that he underwent surgery when she posted the following on Instagram:

“When I told my husband I wanted to go on one last trip before the end of the year, this is NOT what I meant 😅

From the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Trevi Fountain in Rome to La Sagrada Família in Barcelona to… the Birmingham Surgery Center in Alabama — I’m honestly just happy to travel with him 🥰”

Sheamus first appeared on WWE programming in 2006, and he went on to officially sign with the company in 2007. In June of 2009, Sheamus was called up to the ECW brand and he shocked the world a few months later when he defeated John Cena to become the new WWE Champion at the TLC pay-per-view in December of that same year.

Throughout his run on the WWE main roster Sheamus has managed to become a three time WWE Champion, a one time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, a three time WWE United States Champion, and a five time WWE Tag Team Champion. He is also a former Money in the Bank winner, Royal Rumble winner and a former King of the Ring.
