WWE held two double tapings last week as the company filmed multiple episodes of Raw and SmackDown. This week’s episode of SmackDown was filmed in Grand Rapids, MI last week and the show is set to feature a former NXT Champion.
Bodyslam recently reported that Trick Williams is set to appear on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, and that Williams is now listed as a SmackDown star internally.
However, it was recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that while Trick Williams is now on the main roster WWE will be doing an angle with both General Managers trying to sign Williams to the respective brand.
“He’s on the main roster now. They are doing an angle where I guess both general managers are trying to sign him and he’s the hottest free agent, which, haven’t they done that angle a lot?”
It’s worth noting that PWInsider is also reporting that Trick Williams has not been officially listed internally on a brand yet, but is expected to be part of the main roster in 2026.
Trick Williams first signed with WWE in 2021 and has since gone on to become a one time NXT North American Champion, a one time TNA Wrestling World Champion and a two time NXT Champion.
