Dominik Mysterio has become one of the top stars in WWE over the last few years, and he’s also one of the top names in AAA at the moment as he’s the AAA Mega Champion. On Saturday night he stepped into the ring at the AAA Guerra de Titanes event in Guadalajara when he teamed up with El Grande Americano to face Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Dominik Mysterio suffered a shoulder injury during the match. At this point in time the severity of the injury is unknown.
“Dom injured his shoulder taking the DDT from his dad near the end of tonight’s main event. Based on how he landed, my presumption is it’s likely a shoulder separation, which depending on the severity could be a short-term injury, or worst case scenario surgery. But we won’t know anything until he gets evaluated. He could barely use the arm at all.”
Near the end of the match El Grande Americano reached into his gear for the metal object he often uses during matches, but Penta ran down to the ring and stopped him. Penta then put the object in his own mask and hit Dominik with a headbutt while the referee wasn’t looking. Rey Mysterio followed up with the 619 on Dominik and pinned him to win the match.
