Chris Jericho has been in the professional wrestling business for a long time now and he made the jump to All Elite Wrestling back in 2019. Recently there’s been a lot of talk about Jericho’s future as his contract with AEW is set to expire at the end of the year.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has offered Chris Jericho a retirement storyline and those in the company have said that’s what they’d be interested in. Others in WWE expect Jericho to be back with the company early next year, but nothing is confirmed. It’s being said that this is a Chris Jericho decision and all hints are pointing toward a WWE return.
Chris Jericho has been one of the key figures in AEW since 2019 as he was the first ever AEW World Champion. However, Jericho has not appeared on AEW programming since he dropped the ROH World Championship to Bandido at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view back in April.
Earlier this month Tony Khan addressed Jericho’s absence during an interview with Ariel Helwani when he said, “I love having Chris in AEW and…the door’s always open. [His absence] comes down to working out the dates.”
Stay tuned for updates.
