This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured some big matches as the United States Championship and the Women’s United States Championship were both on the line.
Ilja Dragunov held his United States Championship Open Challenge and Dragunov ended up retaining his title after he picked up a win over Johnny Gargano. Later in the night Giulia went on to defend her Women’s United States Championship against Chelsea Green.
Ethan Page was sitting at ringside and Chelsea greeted him before the match kicked off. Near the end of the match Alba Fyre superkicked Kiana James on the outside. Giulia got distracted by what was happening outside the ring and Chelsea took advantage when she rolled Giulia up then put her feet on the ropes for leverage. The referee didn’t see Chelsea’s feet on the ropes, so he counted the pin as Chelsea won the WWE Women’s United States Championship for the second time in her career.
After the match Chelsea made her way to the barricade to celebrate with Ethan Page and he put Chelsea up on his shoulders as they held up their title belts.
