Raw was a loaded show this week as it kicked off with a big announcement from Adam Pearce who confirmed that Seth Rollins has been stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Pearce also announced that a battle royal would be held to determine who would face CM Punk for the vacant title at Saturday Night’s Main Event next month.
The Raw General Manager demanded that Bron Breakker hand over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and Breakker intimidated Pearce as he made him say please. Pearce complied and left after he got the belt back.
Later in the night Adam Pearce told Paul Heyman that Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker had been removed from the battle royal. He told Paul Heyman to say please if he wanted them back in. Heyman honored the request, but Adam Pearce told Heyman that Reed and Breakker were still getting pulled from the match.
When it came time for the battle royal Rusev, Ivar, Grayson Waller, Kofi Kingston, Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Akira Tozawa, Otis, El Grande Americano, Penta, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, LA Knight, AJ Styles, Dragon Lee and Sheamus made their way to the ring.
Before the match kicked off CM Punk made his way out into the arena. He pointed at LA Knight and said, “I hope it’s you,” before taking a seat at the commentary table.
At one point during the match AJ Styles threw Dom over the top and his feet hit the floor, but the referee didn’t see it, so Dominik returned to the ring and continued to wrestle as if he had never been eliminated.
The final four came down to Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Dominik Mysterio and LA Knight. Jey ended up eliminating Knight and Jimmy at the same time then Dominik popped up behind him and dropkicked him into the ropes. Dom went for the 619 and Jey Uso threw him over the top rope to win the battle royal. After the match Jimmy looked upset because Jey eliminated him. Jey celebrated in the ring as Jimmy shouted at him from the outside.
CM Punk then got in the ring and stared Jey down as the show came to an end. Jey Uso will now go on to face CM Punk for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st.
