John Cena’s in-ring career is almost over, but over the years Cena cemented his legacy by defeating some of the biggest names in the business and winning some of the most prestigious titles in the industry.
Earlier this year John Cena made history when he won his 17th world championship at WrestleMania 41, and it sounds like Cena could potentially win another title before he retires for good.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that currently plans call for John Cena to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series. According to the report the idea of John Cena winning the Intercontinental Championship has been discussed. The idea is that Cena would take the belt into his final match with Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th.
Since he made his WWE debut John Cena has held multiple titles including the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship and Tag Team Championship. The Intercontinental Championship is the one title Cena has never won, so if he were to defeat Dominik to win the title he would officially become a WWE Grand Slam Champion.
As of this writing John Cena only has four dates left on his retirement tour and his next scheduled appearance is set for Raw in Boston on November 10th.
Stay tuned for updates.
