WrestleMania season is set to kick off with the Royal Rumble in January and everyone is wondering what the card will look like for WrestleMania 42. Throughout the course of his career Seth Rollins has faced some big names on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but it looks like The Visionary could be missing WrestleMania next year.

Rollins managed to pick up a huge win over Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel last weekend in Australia. However, it was reported after the show that Seth Rollins had suffered a shoulder injury during the match and was expected to undergo surgery as soon as possible.

Dave Meltzer shared an update on Seth’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio and once again reiterated that he will likely need to undergo surgery. There’s currently no word on what WWE has planned for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but if Seth Rollins does indeed need surgery then it’s possible he could be out of action beyond WrestleMania 42.

“Well, it looks like he’s going to need surgery on the shoulder, and that’s pretty much it. The story that I got was that he was going to have surgery as soon as possible. That was from a couple days ago. And everything else, I haven’t heard anything as far as what they’re going to do (with the World Heavyweight Title). But if he has surgery, he’s going to be out for a long time. Probably past Mania.”

During this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk earned the right to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when he defeated Jey Uso and LA Knight in a triple threat match. It’s been confirmed that Punk will be in a title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st even though it’s not clear at this point in time who he will be facing.

If Seth Rollins does indeed miss WrestleMania 42 then it looks like WWE will have to switch gears as it’s been heavily rumored that Rollins was set to face off against Roman Reigns at the event.

Stay tuned for updates.
