Seth Rollins has been a hot topic over the last few days as The Vision turned on him during this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, and it was later reported that Rollins suffered an injury during his match at Crown Jewel which may require surgery.
The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that it’s been confirmed that Seth Rollins is expected to undergo shoulder surgery as soon as possible. It was also noted that Rollins suffered the injury when he did the coast to coast diving headbutt during the Crown Jewel main event. At this point it’s not clear how long Seth will be out of action other than he will be out for a minimum of several months.
CM Punk earned the right to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when he won a triple threat match on Raw this week, and the match was originally planned for Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st. However, WWE now has a decision to make. There’s speculation that WWE could do a multi-man match for the title, or have Punk got up against Bron Breakker or Bronson Reed.
Those in WWE creative also confirmed that while the card for WrestleMania 42 hasn’t been booked, they’ve been working under the idea that Seth Rollins was set to face Roman Reigns on the Grandest Stage of Them All next year.
Seth Rollins was originally set to be the captain of the heel team for WarGames at Survivor Series, but obviously WWE will have to change plans. Originally CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jacob Fatu and either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight were going to face the team of Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Austin Theory. It’s possible that Bron Breakker will now step up to be the captain for WarGames.
One way or another WWE’s decision regarding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will likely play out on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
