WWE Crown Jewel aired live from Perth, Australia on Saturday and John Cena stepped into the ring to face AJ Styles one final time. Before the match even kicked off the crowd was electric, and John Cena handed Alicia Taylor a note with a special introduction for AJ Styles which referenced his days as the face of TNA Wrestling and his time with the Bullet Club.
John Cena and AJ Styles pulled out all the stops in what many considered to be an instant classic. Ultimately the match ended with John Cena picking up the win after he hit Styles with a Tombstone immediately followed by the Attitude Adjustment.
Fightful Select is reporting that John Cena and AJ Styles received a standing ovation when they returned to the backstage area. It’s also being reported that claim internally was that AJ Styles did not know about the special introduction he was going to get. There are not expected to be any issues regarding the Bullet Club being mentioned during the introduction.
The match also received a major ovation from the fans in attendance and it’s being reported that CM Punk attended Crown Jewel and watched the match from the crowd.
