A few months ago CM Punk stepped up to challenge Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the night 1 main event at SummerSlam. After a brutal match CM Punk managed to defeat The Ring General to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but his reign was short-lived as Seth Rollins successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract right after Punk won the belt.
Since then CM Punk has been chasing the WWE World Heavyweight Title, and he came close to winning the belt back at Clash in Paris before Becky Lynch interfered in the main event to help Rollins retain.
CM Punk has made it clear that it’s his goal to win the belt back before the end of the year, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is planned for Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st.
It’s also being reported that Jade Cargill vs. Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship, and Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu are planned for the show as well. The winner of the McIntyre vs. Fatu match will earn the right to challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at some point.
