John Cena’s retirement tour is winding down and he’s currently set to face off against AJ Styles at Crown Jewel: Perth this weekend. After his match with AJ Styles wraps up Cena will only have four dates left on his WWE schedule, and it looks like the company has an interesting opponent lined up for him at Survivor Series.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that current plans for Survivor Series call for John Cena to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. It’s possible that this will be John Cena’s last match before his official retirement match as it’s not known at this point in time if he will be wrestling when he appears in Boston on November 10th or in New York City on November 17th.
Throughout the course of his career John Cena has won many championships, but he has never held the WWE Intercontinental Title. If he were to win the belt he would officially become a WWE Grand Slam Champion.
WWE recently confirmed that John Cena will be competing in his final match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington DC on December 13th. Multiple sources have reportedly confirmed that a tournament will be held to set up John Cena’s final opponent which is planned to be Gunther.
