Wednesday was a big night for AEW as Dynamite celebrated its 6th anniversary and Andrade returned to the company. Andrade attacked Kenny Omega and then went on to join the Don Callis Family. Last month Andrade parted ways with WWE, so naturally there’s been a lot of questions regarding how he was able to jump to AEW so soon.
PWInsider is reporting that they’ve confirmed Andrade was cut from WWE due to numerous wellness policy violations over the last year. It was also noted that when WWE released Andrade there was no 90 day non-compete clause.
The word is that WWE made the decision to cut Andrade outright which made him free and clear to work elsewhere. WWE chose to cut the former United States Champion as opposed to paying him for another 90 days and preventing him from working for other companies.
Over the last few years WWE had stopped publicly announcing wellness policy violations and Andrade’s situation pretty much confirms that those practices have quietly disappeared.
What was your reaction when Andrade returned to AEW? Sound off in the comments below.
