Jeff Hardy has been in the professional wrestling business for decades, and throughout the course of his career he’s picked up many victories after putting his opponents away with the Swanton Bomb.
The Charismatic Enigma’s finisher has become iconic, and he recently explained to Rewind, Recap, Relive how the move came together in a recent interview.
“It was another one of my favorite wrestlers from Japan, The Great Sasuke, I believe. He would do this dive to the floor, but he had that grace about his front flip, and I just started doing that on the trampoline and said, wow, this might be a cool move to do in the ring on somebody. Instead of a senton, because it is so graceful, I put the swan in there, and I’ll never forget telling ‘Jim Ross, hey, I would like to call this the Swanton Bomb’, if that’s cool, man, and sure enough, that night he did it, and the rest is history.”
Currently Jeff Hardy is one half of the TNA Wrestling World Tag Team Champions alongside his brother match. The Hardys will be putting the titles on the line at NXT Invasion when they face NXT Tag Team Champions Darkstate in a winner takes all match at NXT Invasion next week.
Stay tuned for updates.
