Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured a huge main event as Tiffany Stratton defended the WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax and Jade Cargill in a triple threat match. Stratton ended up retaining the title, but the finish got a lot of people talking for the wrong reasons.

At one point Jade Cargill pinned Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton was seemingly supposed to break up the pin, but Stratton didn’t make it in time so Nia Jax kicked out. Tiffany Stratton then pinned Nia Jax, and the referee stopped the count at two even though Nia didn’t make an attempt to kick out.

Over the last few days the finish has been a very hot topic on social media. Recently Chelsea Green took a moment to defend Nia Jax when she posted the following tweet:

“The internet not knowing that Nia is one of the best is the biggest travesty. We’re lucky to have her as a locker room leader.”

It seems that plans for the main event started to fall apart when Jade Cargill was busted open after Nia Jax threw her into the steel ring steps earlier in the match. After the referee stopped the count at two when Tiffany was pinning Nia Jax, Tiffany went to the top rope and connected with a moonsault to pick up the victory.
