Recently there’s been a lot of talk about WWE returns as some big names have returned to the company this year. Now it seems that a familiar face is no longer part of the WWE roster.
Fightful Select is reporting that Andrade is done with WWE, and this is not a case of his contract expiring as Andrade had more than 18 months left on his deal. It’s being said that the departure had been in the works, but as of right now the circumstances surrounding the departure are unknown. According to the report Andrade had not been at SmackDown recently.
One source in WWE indicated that the departure had been in the works for at least a week, and that immediate creative plans after SummerSlam were affected. A number of talent had no idea that Andrade had left, or was leaving WWE.
Andrade originally signed with WWE in 2015 and he was with the company until he was released in 2021. Following his release he signed with AEW, but he finished up with AEW at the end of 2023. The former United States Champion was offered a contract with AEW which he turned down. Despite the circumstances regarding his AEW departure, a source at All Elite Wrestling noted that “no bridge is truly burned in AEW,” which could indicate that a return is not out of the question.
