This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from Norfolk, VA and the show featured a huge main event. For weeks now Randy Orton has been feuding with Drew McIntyre and the two stars finally clashed inside the ring on Friday night.
Near the end of the match Randy Orton set Drew up for the punt, but the referee got in Randy’s way and prevented him from hitting the move. Orton was furious, so he moved to another corner and went for the punt as Drew dodged it. McIntyre then pushed Orton into the referee and Orton stopped himself before knocking the ref down. The Viper then turned around into the RKO and Drew pinned him to win the match.
After the match was over Drew threw Randy Orton out of the ring then prepared to hit him with the Claymore through the announce table. Before Drew could hit the move Cody Rhodes returned. The American Nightmare ran down to the ring and made the save as he took out Drew McIntyre.
Cody then got on the mic and told Orton that the champ is back. He followed up by telling The Scottish Warrior that he’ll see him at WrestlePalooza. For weeks now it’s been rumored that Cody would be defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at WrestlePalooza on September 20th, now it seems that the match is officially confirmed.
