September 20th is shaping up to be a big day for wrestling fans as AEW All Out and WWE WrestlePalooza will be airing live on the same day. Adam Page will be defending his AEW World Championship against Kyle Fletcher at the event, but that was not the match that was originally planned for the show.
Fightful Select recently reported that Wardlow unfortunately sustained an injury which is believed to be a pectoral tear. Self Made PW also reported that Wardlow suffered the injury during his return angle when he hit a lariat on Prince Nana.
According to Fightful, the injury affected creative plans for the top of the card in All Elite Wrestling. Originally Wardlow was set to challenge Adam Page for the AEW World Championship at All Out. Obviously plans were changed and Kyle Fletcher was put in the match after an audible was called.
The belief at this point is that Wardlow will likely be sidelined for quite some time. Wardlow’s status was said to have been a heavy point of conversation at MJF’s wedding as people felt bad for him getting sidelined. Overall AEW is happy with the direction things have gone and the reception to Kyle Fletcher being featured in a main event spot.
AEW All Out will air live on Saturday, September 20th.
