The Wyatt Sicks Retain Tag Team Titles At WWE SummerSlam

The stars of SmackDown’s tag team division stepped into the spotlight at SummerSlam on Sunday night as The Wyatt Sicks defended the WWE Tag Team Championship against Andrade and Rey Fénix, DIY, Fraxiom, Motor City Machine Guns and the The Street Profits in tables, ladders and chairs match.

Ahead of the match it was announced that The Dudley Boyz and The Hardys were in the crowd. Alicia Taylor pointed out that the first TLC match took place at SummerSlam in the year 2000, so both teams were shown on the screen in honor of the 25th anniversary of the match.

The match was absolutely action packed and full of big chaotic spots. At one point Candice LeRae ran down and tried to climb the ladder to steal the gold for DIY. B-Fab came down to stop her then B-Fab started climbing. However, Nikki Cross took out B-Fab then Candice LeRae started to climb again as Johnny Gargano held the ladder. Montez Ford kicked Tommaso Ciampa then Ciampa bumped into Gargano who accidentally pushed Candice off the ladder and she fell onto a ladder that was set up between the the apron and the announce table.

Erick Rowan then started fighting The Street Profits event though he wasn’t legally in the match. The Street Profits fought back and hit Rowan with steel chairs then put him through a table that was set up in the corner.

Ciampa got in the ring and climbed the ladder. He grabbed the belts, but Sabin and Shelley pulled the ladder out from under him. Nathan Frazer tried to jump off the ladder and take down Ciampa, but Ciampa pulled himself up in order to dodge the attack. Gargano then put the ladder back underneath Ciampa.

Uncle Howdy appeared and pushed Montez Ford and Axiom off a ladder to the outside then did the same to DIY to send DIY crashing through some tables that were set up in front of the ring. Andrade took out Uncle Howdy with a sunset flip powerbomb off the ladder into another ladder.

Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis then cleared the ring and Gacy climbed the ladder. He managed to grab the belts to win the match for The Wyatt Sicks.
