It’s been an interesting year for Cody Rhodes so far as he walked into the 2025 as the Undisputed WWE Champion. He went on to defend his title against John Cena at WrestleMania 41, and Cena made history when he defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th championship.
It’s probably safe to say that Cody Rhodes has been patiently waiting for a rematch with John Cena, and he secured a title shot at SummerSlam last month when Rhodes won the King of the Ring tournament. Ahead of their rematch at SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes revealed his new “Nightmare King” nickname on social media.

Unfortunately for Cody Rhodes the odds were stacked against him at WrestleMania 41 as Travis Scott interfered in the main event which allowed Cena to pick up the win. There’s currently no word on whether or not Travis Scott will be at SummerSlam, but another celebrity is expected to appear at the show and you can get more on that here.
WWE SummerSlam will air live from MetLife Stadium on Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd. The current card for the event can be seen below.
