Last year Goldberg got into a heated confrontation with Gunther at the Bad Blood premium live event and he announced shortly after that he would be competing in a retirement match in 2025.
Goldberg picked up right where he left off with Gunther during last week’s episode of Raw when he confronted The Ring General then announced that he would be challenging him for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
PWInsider is reporting that current plans for Goldberg call for the Hall of Famer to appear on all upcoming episodes of Monday Night Raw ahead of his retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with next week’s episode of Raw in Pittsburgh being the exception.
Goldberg is currently scheduled for tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw and he is expected to address his upcoming match with Gunther during the show. The Gunther vs. Goldberg title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event will be Goldberg’s first match since he faced off against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in February of 2022.
