Jey Uso has been with WWE for a long time, but over the last few years he’s taken his career to the next level. The former Intercontinental Champion has become one of the top stars in WWE, and he recently punched his ticket to WrestleMania when he won the 2025 Royal Rumble.
While Jey has been winning over crowds at WWE events around the world there are a number of people who have been criticizing his in-ring skills. Recently Rikishi shared his take on the situation on his Off The Top podcast, and he defended Jey.
“As far as the in-ring skills, the skills are there. If it wasn’t there, to me, I don’t think the kid would be as over as he is right now. The skills have been there for 17 years.”
“What we should take a look at what was the opportunity. The opportunity came, the wrestling universe has spoken. The WWE has heard it and seen it and gave this kid a chance. So at the end of the day, you can rest assured you are not gonna be disappointed when the Yeet Man shows up, does what he does, and you’re gonna watch what happens at YeetMania. So get ready. Yeet.”
