WWE is constantly putting out content and in recent months the Raw, SmackDown and NXT brands have gone through some big changes. Back in October, Raw transitioned to a two hour show, and last week Friday Night SmackDown added a third hour.

It seems that SmackDown’s status as a three hour show is only temporary as Triple H confirmed today during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show that the blue brand will return to the two hour format at some point. The Game did not confirm when the third hour will be cut from SmackDown.

“Yes, for right now, and then it switches back to two,” Triple H told McAfee when asked about SmackDown’s current three hour format.

PWInsider is reporting that they reached out to a source who noted that SmackDown will likely remain a three hour show into the spring. There is no concrete date regarding when the third hour will be cut as it’s being said that WWE wants to be a good partner for NBCUniversal and are willing to do whatever is best for the partnership.

WWE Monday Night Raw is set to premiere on Netflix tonight and there’s been a lot of talk about the runtime for tonight’s show. Triple H has indicated that Raw won’t necessarily have a set runtime week to week. With that being said, it seems that WWE has decided on the runtime for tonight’s show, and you can get more on that here.
