There’s never a good time for a wrestler to be injured, and last week on Monday Night Raw it was revealed that Rhea Ripley had been sidelined. Ripley vacated her WWE Women’s World Championship and it was later announced that a battle royal would be held to crown a new champion.
At one point Becky Lynch eliminated Piper Niven, so Piper responded by grabbing Becky and pulling her underneath the bottom rope. Becky ended up on the announce table and Nia Jax tried to slam Piper through Becky on top of the announce table, but the table didn’t break. During the commercial break Nia Jax put Becky through the table.
As this was happening Chelsea Green was eliminated. However, none of the referees were looking while the elimination happened, so she continued to wrestle as if she had not been eliminated.
Chelsea was eliminated again and it came down to Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. Becky Lynch was still on the outside. Nia Jax eliminated Zoey Stark then Shayna Baszler.
It came down to Nia Jax and Liv then Becky entered the ring. Liv and Becky worked together to eliminate Nia Jax and then it came down to two. After a few minutes Becky and Liv went over the top rope as they battled on the apron. Lynch hit the Manhandle Slam on Liv Morgan outside of the ring on the apron and Liv fell to the floor.
Becky Lynch was then crowned the new WWE Women’s World Champion. After the match Becky entered the crowd and celebrated with the fans in the arena as she held up the title.
