This week on Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes came face to face with Roman Reigns and he told The Tribal Chief that he’s coming for him, but he won’t be coming for him at WrestleMania.
The Rock then made his return and seemingly set up a WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns which is expected to be made official next week during the WrestleMania press event in Las Vegas. With Rock stepping up to face Roman Reigns now the plan moving forward is for Cody Rhodes to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.
PW Torch is reporting that despite rumors there was never any serious consideration given to Roman Reigns wrestling twice at WrestleMania with one match against Cody and another match against The Rock.
The expectation is that Cody Rhodes will finish his story with Roman Reigns at some point later this year, but it will not be happening on the Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 40.
