For decades Vince McMahon was the one steering the ship for WWE, but now he no longer has a role with the company. Following a lawsuit that was filed by a WWE employee on Thursday accusing Vince of sex trafficking and abuse he has resigned from his role as Executive Chairman of TKO.
WWE has since removed most references to Vince McMahon on their official website. Vince’s profile has been removed completely rather than shifted to the alumni section. A link to the Mr. McMahon profile page can be found using the search featured, but when you click on the link it brings up a page which says “You are not authorized to access this page.”
As we previously reported Vince McMahon issued the following statement on his resignation:
“I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth
“I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name.
“However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately.”
