WWE has been going through some major changes over the last few years and it was recently reported that Kevin Dunn would be parting ways with the company. Following Kevin Dunn’s departure WWE announced Lee Fitting has been hired to work as the Head of Media and Production.
PWInsider is reporting that the decision to hire Lee Fitting to be Kevin Dunn’s replacement made waves in the production and TV departments. It was said that there were some people who were not thrilled that an outside would be above them.
Others were reportedly concerned about what the hiring could mean if Fitting were to bring in his own people at the expense of current WWE employees. It was also noted that there was disappointment that WWE didn’t promote from within the company with Executive Vice President of Television Chris Kaiser being mentioned as someone who deserved to be considered.
According to a source the hiring should not have come as a surprise because Mark Shapiro of TKO previously oversaw ESPN where Fitting worked for years.
