It’s an interesting time for the world of professional wrestling as WWE has been locking down their top stars and multiple wrestlers who were released from the company back in September are set to become free agents this week.
Recently it was reported that WWE signed Charlotte Flair, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to new deals. According to Fightful Select, Charlotte Flair’s new WWE contract gives her a huge increase in pay compared to her last deal, and it’s one of the highest paid deals for a woman in WWE history.
It was noted today on Fightful’s The Hump that Mercedes Mone’s asking price was above what Charlotte Flair got with her new WWE deal. Mercedes Mone is currently a free agent, but it’s been rumored for months that she could end up working with AEW at some point.
Earlier this week it was reported that tentative plans for Mercedes to work with AEW are no longer active, and the two sides were far apart on terms. However, that doesn’t mean Mercedes won’t potentially work with AEW in the future as it hasn’t been confirmed that the door is completely closed.
In the past WWE has shown interested in bringing Mercedes Mone back to the company, but the word going around is that no one has been told to prepare for her return.
Mercedes Mone has been out of action for months now due to injury and there’s no word on when she could be returning to the ring. Stay tuned for updates.
