Each passing day is bringing us closer and closer to SummerSlam and this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw will be the last Raw before WWE’s biggest show of the summer. It’s safe to say that WWE will be looking to pull out all the stops to make the show as exciting as possible, but it seems that one top star will be missing Raw this week.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Drew McIntyre will not be at Raw this week because he will be in Budapest, Hungary filming a movie. McIntyre landed a role in a film titled The Killer’s Game which also stars former WWE Champion Dave Bautista.
One way or another McIntyre will have a chance to win gold at SummerSlam when he challenges Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. Recently Drew McIntyre talked about the match on the Cheap Heat Podcast where he noted that the goal is to stand above the main events.
“We now have a program, a big match where people are like, ‘Okay, I want to see these two guys together. Oh, Gunther’s in jeopardy, he’s perhaps gonna lose the title. Drew’s back, he’s finally gonna get his moment with a title in front of the fans.’ The run Gunther’s been on, [we have] the opportunity to stand above even the world title match, which is the goal.”
