It was a big weekend for wrestling as Night of Champions aired live from Saudi Arabia and NXT Battleground also aired live from Lowell, MA. The show featured some big moments, and it sounds like there are two specific matches that stood out to WWE officials.
The WRKD Wrestling account is reporting that the Tiffany Stratton vs. Lyra Valkaria and Ilja Dragunov vs. Dijak matches received a lot of praise backstage. It was also noted that there’s talk of Dragunov getting called up to the main roster after SummerSlam and possibly joining Imperium.

Imperium have been one of the top acts in WWE for some time now, and their momentum doesn’t show any sign of slowing down as they’ve been working to establish themselves as a dominant force on Raw. A new member could certainly help take the group to the next level while also elevating Dragunov as well.
SummerSlam will take place from Ford Field in Detroit on August 5, so we’ll have to wait and see if Dragunov gets called up to the main roster in a few months.
